About Sandisk and Its Shares

What Sandisk does

Sandisk designs and makes NAND flash memory and the products built on it: solid-state drives for data centres and PCs, memory cards, USB drives and embedded storage for phones and cars. It is one of a handful of companies in the world that manufacture flash at scale.

History and listing

Sandisk was founded in 1988 and became a household name in memory cards. Western Digital bought it in 2016, then separated the flash business again; Sandisk began regular trading on Nasdaq as an independent company under SNDK in February 2025.

How it works

What Drives Sandisk Share Price?

NAND flash prices

Sandisk's revenue rides on the price of NAND flash, which swings with supply and demand across the industry. When manufacturers add capacity faster than demand grows, prices fall and margins shrink; when supply is tight, they recover quickly.

AI and data-centre storage

High-capacity SSDs for AI data centres are a growing source of demand. Orders from cloud providers, and how quickly they replace hard drives with flash, are watched as signs of where the cycle is heading.

Earnings and manufacturing

Sandisk makes most of its flash through a long-standing joint venture with Kioxia in Japan. Quarterly results, its guidance on prices and bit shipments, and capital spending plans move the stock.

Shares, tokens and derivatives

How Are Referenced Shares Different From Tokens or Derivatives?

The share, and what Bybit lists

Sandisk's shares are common stock on Nasdaq. On Bybit, SNDK is a USDT-settled perpetual futures contract (SNDKUSDT) whose price follows Sandisk's shares. It is a derivative: holding it, or an option on it, gives no share, vote or dividend, and its price can differ from the exchange's share price, especially when the US market is closed.

Why the prices can differ

The perpetual keeps trading when Nasdaq is closed, so it can move away from the last share price overnight and at weekends. Funding payments every eight hours pull it back toward its index.

Risks specific to SNDK exposure

Memory is one of the most cyclical parts of the chip industry, so Sandisk's earnings and share price can swing widely. As a recently separated company, its trading history is short. The perpetual adds leverage, funding and exchange risks.

On Gravitas

How to Explore Sandisk on Gravitas

Gravitas does not sell Sandisk shares. It lets you trade options on Bybit's SNDK contract, which tracks the share price, from your own exchange account, with the payoff and the most you can lose shown before you trade.

Gravitas connects to your exchange account through the exchange's own sign-in and never holds your funds. Trades settle in USDT on that account. Options can expire worthless; the most you can lose is shown before every trade.

FAQs

Sandisk Frequently Asked Questions

What does Sandisk manufacture?

NAND flash memory and the storage built from it: data-centre and PC SSDs, memory cards, USB drives and embedded flash for phones, cars and devices.

Why does SNDK share price change?

Mainly the NAND price cycle — industry supply against demand — plus data-centre orders, quarterly results and guidance, and the wider market for chip stocks. Memory stocks tend to move more than the market in both directions.

What affects NAND flash prices?

Supply and demand across the few companies that make it. New factory capacity and inventory build-ups push prices down; demand from phones, PCs and especially AI data centres, and producers cutting output, push them up.

Can I view Sandisk shares in rupees?

Yes. The page shows SNDK in rupees by default, converted from Bybit's SNDK perpetual price at Tether's dollar price and the ECB's USD/INR rate. The SNDK to INR converter handles any quantity.

Where does the Sandisk price on this page come from?

From Bybit's SNDKUSDT perpetual: the last price of a contract that tracks Sandisk's shares, streamed live. It is not the Nasdaq share price.

Can I trade Sandisk on Gravitas?

Gravitas does not sell Sandisk shares. It lets you trade options on Bybit's SNDK contract from your own connected exchange account, with the most you can lose shown first, and no ownership of Sandisk.
