About Tesla and Its Shares

What Tesla does

Tesla designs and sells electric vehicles, including the Model 3 and Model Y, and makes batteries, the Powerwall home battery and Megapack grid-scale storage. It also develops driver-assistance and self-driving software, robotaxi services and the Optimus humanoid robot.

Founding and listing

Tesla was founded in 2003. Elon Musk led its early funding and has been chief executive since 2008. The company listed on Nasdaq in 2010 under TSLA.

How it works

What Drives Tesla Share Price?

Deliveries and margins

Tesla publishes vehicle production and delivery numbers shortly after each quarter ends, ahead of full results. Deliveries against expectations, price cuts and automotive gross margins are the first read on how the business is doing.

Energy storage

Megapack and Powerwall deployments have become a meaningful and growing part of revenue. Strong storage numbers can offset weaker car sales in how the market values the company.

Autonomy and valuation

Much of Tesla's valuation rests on the expectation that self-driving software, robotaxis and robots become large businesses. Progress, setbacks and regulatory decisions on autonomy move the shares, as does news about Elon Musk.

Shares, tokens and derivatives

How Are Referenced Shares Different From Tokens or Derivatives?

The share, and what Bybit lists

Tesla's shares are common stock on Nasdaq. On Bybit, TSLA is a USDT-settled perpetual futures contract (TSLAUSDT) whose price follows Tesla's shares. It is a derivative: holding it, or an option on it, gives no share, vote or dividend, and its price can differ from the exchange's share price, especially when the US market is closed.

Why the prices can differ

Nasdaq trades 9:30 am to 4 pm New York time; the perpetual trades at all hours. News that lands overnight shows up in the contract first, and funding every eight hours pulls it back toward its index.

Risks specific to TSLA exposure

Tesla is one of the most volatile large US stocks, sensitive to car demand, price competition from other EV makers, regulation of autonomy, and key-person risk. The perpetual adds leverage, funding and exchange risks.

On Gravitas

How to Explore Tesla on Gravitas

Gravitas does not sell Tesla shares. It lets you trade options on Bybit's TSLA contract, which tracks the share price, from your own exchange account, with the payoff and the most you can lose shown before you trade.

Gravitas connects to your exchange account through the exchange's own sign-in and never holds your funds. Trades settle in USDT on that account. Options can expire worthless; the most you can lose is shown before every trade.

FAQs

Tesla Frequently Asked Questions

What drives Tesla share price?

Vehicle deliveries and margins, energy-storage growth, progress on self-driving and robotaxis, quarterly results and guidance, competition, interest rates, and news about Elon Musk. Expectations for future businesses carry a large share of its value, which makes it volatile.

How do Tesla deliveries influence market expectations?

Tesla reports quarterly production and deliveries soon after each quarter ends. Analysts compare them with forecasts; a miss or beat changes expectations for revenue and margins before the full results arrive, so the shares often move on that day.

What does TSLA mean?

TSLA is Tesla's ticker symbol on Nasdaq. On Bybit, TSLA also names a USDT perpetual contract that tracks Tesla's shares; this page's price comes from that contract.

Can I view Tesla value in rupees?

Yes. This page shows TSLA in rupees by default, converting Bybit's TSLA perpetual price from USDT at Tether's dollar price and the ECB's USD/INR rate. The TSLA to INR converter handles any quantity.

Where does the Tesla price on this page come from?

From Bybit's TSLAUSDT perpetual: the last price of a contract that tracks Tesla's shares, streamed live. It is not the Nasdaq share price.

Can I trade Tesla on Gravitas?

Gravitas does not sell Tesla shares. It lets you trade options on Bybit's TSLA contract from your own connected exchange account, with the most you can lose shown first, and no ownership of Tesla.
