About Invesco QQQ and the Nasdaq-100

What QQQ is

Invesco QQQ Trust, Series 1 is an exchange-traded fund that holds the stocks of the Nasdaq-100 Index: the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq. Buying one QQQ share is a single position on all of them, weighted by size.

Issuer and history

The fund launched on 10 March 1999 and is managed by Invesco. It is one of the most heavily traded ETFs in the US, used both for long-term saving and for short-term trading of the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100.

How it works

What Does the QQQ ETF Hold?

Holdings and concentration

The Nasdaq-100 is weighted by market value, so the largest technology and communication companies make up a large share of the fund. A handful of names can drive much of its daily move, which makes QQQ more concentrated than a broad market index.

How the index changes

The index is rebalanced quarterly and reconstituted once a year in December, when companies are added or removed based on size. The fund adjusts its holdings to match, so QQQ's make-up changes over time without any action from its holders.

Expenses

Invesco lists QQQ's total expense ratio at 0.18% a year, taken from the fund's assets rather than charged to you directly. Check Invesco's site for the current figure.

Shares, tokens and derivatives

How Do QQQ NAV and Market Price Differ?

NAV and market price

An ETF's net asset value (NAV) is what its holdings are worth per share, calculated after each US trading day. Its market price is what QQQ shares trade at on the exchange. Authorised participants create and redeem shares to keep the two close, so gaps are usually small.

The Bybit contract

On Bybit, QQQ is a USDT-settled perpetual futures contract (QQQUSDT) whose price follows the Invesco QQQ ETF's shares. It is a derivative: holding it, or an option on it, gives no share, vote or dividend, and its price can differ from the exchange's share price, especially when the US market is closed.

Risks specific to QQQ exposure

QQQ is concentrated in large US tech, so it can fall hard when growth stocks sell off. It carries no protection from interest-rate or regulatory shocks to those companies. The perpetual adds leverage, funding and exchange risks, and trades when the ETF does not.

On Gravitas

How to Explore Invesco QQQ on Gravitas

Gravitas does not sell ETF shares. It lets you trade options on Bybit's QQQ contract — a view on the whole Nasdaq-100 in one market — from your own exchange account, with the most you can lose shown before you trade.

Gravitas connects to your exchange account through the exchange's own sign-in and never holds your funds. Trades settle in USDT on that account. Options can expire worthless; the most you can lose is shown before every trade.

FAQs

Invesco QQQ Frequently Asked Questions

What does QQQ track?

The Nasdaq-100 Index: the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq, weighted by market value. The fund holds those stocks in proportion to the index.

How is QQQ different from buying one stock?

One stock exposes you to a single company's results. QQQ spreads the same money across a hundred companies, so one firm's bad news moves it less — though its heaviest holdings still dominate its moves.

What is an ETF expense ratio?

The yearly cost of running a fund, taken as a percentage of its assets and reflected in its NAV rather than billed to you. Invesco lists QQQ's at 0.18% a year.

Can I view QQQ value in INR?

Yes. This page shows QQQ in rupees by default, converting Bybit's QQQ perpetual price from USDT at Tether's dollar price and the ECB's USD/INR rate. The QQQ to INR converter handles any quantity.

Where does the Invesco QQQ price on this page come from?

From Bybit's QQQUSDT perpetual: the last price of a contract that tracks the Invesco QQQ ETF, streamed live. It is neither the ETF's exchange price nor its NAV.

Can I trade Invesco QQQ on Gravitas?

Gravitas does not sell QQQ shares. It lets you trade options on Bybit's QQQ contract from your own connected exchange account, with the payoff and the most you can lose shown first, and no ownership of the fund.
